As a veteran in the NYC indie music scene , Kathleen Russo had written scores of songs. As life took a turn that included family and a career, she composed dozens more. Now after a hiatus of several years, she has come back to her craft.
Kathleen’s music is not easy to classify. Influences—from Dave Brubeck and Joni Mitchell to Johann Sebastian Bach—are as diverse as the subjects from which she draws inspiration. “Discord” is Kathleen’s response to the war in Ukraine and political tension. “Pacific Kaleidoscope” is her attempt to capture the music of a sunset. “Better Angels” rises from the hopes she has for mankind and “When We Were Young” is a tribute to a friend with Alzheimer’s.
Kathleen is grateful to have returned to creating music and for the opportunity to reach a wide audience. She is delighted to share with you the work of her lifetime.
